This project consisted in the transformation of a 12" tom to a traditional war drum. Firstly i build the laminated plywood hoops, about 9mm wide and 50mm tall, i used hot water to bend the laminates and the tom itself has a mold for gluing them into place.
Prepared the tom by filling the holes of the tom lugs with beech wood, then sanding and drawing the Celtic triskle with stencil technique. Water based varnish was applied to protect the instrument.
